Rising Kites Easter Bouquets

One of my favorite things about the flower farm journey is the amazing people I meet.
Whether it’s out at farmers markets, through custom orders, or designing flowers for weddings, I consider it such an honor to serve those God sends across my path.
Among the amazing people I meet are the other flower farmers. You would think that having another flower farmer in your area would create animosity and fierce competition and I’ve heard of stories where that is true.
Yet, from the first moment, I have experienced nothing but acceptance into the community and camaraderie not competition.
It is a beautiful thing to have community to be welcomed into.
One of these amazing growers is Danielle with Rising Kites Flowers. While Danielle is not local to me, social media has made it possible to develop a friendship through the distance.
When Danielle had their second child, a daughter named Sammie, her and her husband discovered moments after birth that Sammie was born with Down Syndrome.
Since there had been no indication during the pregnancy, Danielle and her husband felt completely shocked.
Not only did they weather the news of her diagnosis but when the family was sent home, they had very little information with what next steps to take.
Danielle says, “We’ve also spoken with a number of doctors and nurses who have stated that they often feel ill-equipped to provide adequate resources and avenues of support to families receiving this news.
As a result, we were inspired to start Rising Kites.
Rising Kites initially provided bags to medical facilities that were distributed immediately to parents just learning that their child was diagnosed with Down syndrome in order to provide education, encouragement, and resources for the journey ahead.”
Meeting Danielle online has been an amazing gift and I have been following her journey for the past two years. Over time I have grown to love and be deeply encouraged by her daughter, Sammie.
One of Sammie’s gifts, is her unique way to see depth and value in the simplest of moments.
If we were all more content with the simplest of things, what joy we would bring to the world.
This month, Rising Kites is raising $75,000 in order to support their mission of sending more bags to hospitals and families.
Click here to buy a tulip bouquet from us for Easter – each bouquet purchase will support a kit bag consisting of educational resources and items of encouragement to assist families as they navigate life altering news.
Bouquets will be delivered on Friday, March 29th, 2024 in order to kick off the start of Easter celebrations.
We can’t think of a better way to celebrate Easter’s deeper meaning than partnering with this amazing organization.
We are so excited about this incentive and can’t wait to celebrate Rising Kites as they hit their goal this month.
